Port of Algeciras bay

The Public Ports Authority of Andalucia is responsible for development and application of regional government policy for ports and transportation of goods as directed by Spain’s Regional Ministry of Public Works and Housing and has a strategic role in the Mediterranean and EU region.The Port of Algeciras will contribute to its development as a goods’ Gateway and the development of the Andalucian region in general. The Algeciras Port is a leader in the Spanish port system with 82.8 million tons of total traffic in 2011; In 2011 containerised cargo exceeded 47 million tons carried in 3.6 million TEUs. Algeciras Logistics Area, El Fresno has been developed by APPA and covers 41 Ha. It offers a Tertiary Activities Centre and a Trucks Centre.
